The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning...

...as an educational and organizational change management research and think-tank firm focusing on balancing issues of people and systems to develop and/or enhance organizational, communal, societal, global and personal functioning to create sustainable and flexible options, creations and entrepreneurial actions within organizations for the long term future.

Our Mission

The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning, LLC Mission is:

To collaboratively challenge and explore conventional thinking to create congruent paths with individuals, groups, communities and cultures. We believe that the process of development personally and organizationally is a path to congruence. We seek to participate in helping you craft a path that balances who you are [personally and organizationally] with what you can become.

To achieve our mission, The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning, LLC’ philosophy states:

We believe that all effective action is based on the ability of people and systems to create congruence within the framework of their personal, social, intellectual, emotional, sexual and organizational lives. We therefore partner with clients to ensure that balance and alignment create opportunity to sustain them and the systems they create for the long term.

We believe that no one is wrong, everyone is different and the diversity of ideas and applications creates opportunity for sustainability. Therefore the future of organizational and personal sustainability is based on strategies for inclusion and comprehensiveness.

We purposely seek to continue to be inclusive of multiple cultures and communities, especially seeking to enrich and balance the lives of people in all corners of the world, namely, the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia, China and Singapore.

This philosophy is achieved by:

  • Matching congruent beliefs with planned action

  • Matching appropriate skills of employees with desired outcomes of the organization.

  • Ensuring that management and employees are provided enough information to assure their successful accomplishment of desired goals and outcomes.

  • Ensuring that training designed for the organization achieves both personal and organizational development consistent with the needs of the employee and the identified outcomes of the organization.

  • Defining the outcomes and allowing employees to identify the strategies that will allow them to be creative and productive in ensuring the success of the outcomes.

  • Creating the performance management system that evaluates success and minimizes weakness with the team development creating the final organizational products.

  • Re-evaluating the outcomes to ensure that what was planned and agreed upon by all is consistent with the final outcomes and the organizational mission.

  • Enabling the creation of systemic processes that develop more congruent actions in people and systems, thus enhancing the organization’s potential for increased innovation, entrepreneurial action and sustainable practices.

The Institute for Transformative Thought and Learning has:

  • Been developed as a result of clients and client systems defining the values of a systems approach to change and development over the past nineteen years. The focus of the work has been to ensure that the issues of people and system congruity are accomplished through the thinking and praxis activities of governments, corporations, societal change groups and individuals through their work in the world.

  • Developed as a building system for creating, change, development and congruence within organizations, it is presented in organizations as a LEVEL BUILDING SYSTEM that identifies and resolves organizational "hard spots" and individual "trauma points" while enhancing the learning within the organization and members for the present and the future.

  • Focused on the creation of balance and alignment within organizations and among its members. Organizations historically focus on compartmentalized approaches to change and development, believing that the strategies designed for the organization will achieve a better balance with the desired outcomes of the organization. It does not work and increased costs, reduced performance, ineffective communications and additional human resource costs occurs from a compartmentalized approach.

  • A system of development that helps you identify WHAT is not working, HOW the organization created the rift, WHY the organization has been unsuccessful in its strategies, WHO is best able to alter the course of events, and WHEN changes should be made that match the short and long term organizational need, WHAT should be implemented with priority and HOW to maintain and measure effectiveness in the interventions created.

  • Created a systems approach to organizational and personal change that requires integration, transformation and utilization of people and organizational systems strategies to respond to organizational dynamics that govern performance and strategy outcomes.

Description: According to a recent Gallup poll, seven out of ten high school students reported that they wanted to start and run their own business. Every year, five million Americans launch their own ventures, according to the Small Business Administration. By any measure, the movement toward entrepreneurship is increasing each year. And while many resources provide practical information to guide the entrepreneur or small business owner through the challenges of establishing, managing, and growing their business, few tackle the more personal side of entrepreneurship in a rigorous fashion. As Ted Sun argues, "countless people are entering entrepreneurship in one form or another. Most have no clue how to be one." Drawing from extensive primary research, conducted with entrepreneurs in a variety of fields, Sun dispels common myths and misconceptions about entrepreneurship and identifies eleven core beliefs, behaviors, and qualities of successful individuals, including technical proficiency, team-building skills, and the ability to make decisions without complete information. Moreover, through numerous illustrative examples, diagnostics, and other interactive elements, he shows the reader how to learn and develop these qualities. The result is a practical guide to the art of entrepreneurship--a primer for reducing stress, building confidence, balancing work and life priorities, becoming more productive, and increasing your chances of success.

CONGRATULATIONS, DR. SUN!!!!!!
